Tutorials

Folding origami is not very difficult, you just have to know how it works. The different tuorials on these pages will show you exactly, how an origami figure will be folded correctly.

In every tutorial section you will find a short 3D animation of the whole folding process but also short sequences of each folding step so that you can imagine how the chosen figure will evolve from a square piece of paper.

There is also the possibility to download each tutorial as a PDF-File which either includes the small animations (PDF Offline) or pictures (PDF Print) of every foldings.
Please note that the Acrobat Reader 9 or higher will be needed. You can download it from Adobe. It's for free.

So that the folding of Origami figures is not a problem for you, the small animations contain two coloured paper (face: white, back: yellow). It's much easier to know which side is visible. If you want to get a red crane at the end so your red side of the sheet of paper should complay with the white side of the piece of paper in the different animations.

Furthermore there are many basic foldings. Two of them are really important to know - the valley folding and the mountain folding. The valley foldings are coloured blue and the mountain foldings are coloured red.
