The traditional crane bases on the bird and it is quite similar to fold as the crane.
Step #1:
Swing open the upper layer to the back.
Step #2
Fold the uppest site on the left to the right and turn the folded paper around.
Step #3
Redo step #1.
Swing open the upper layer to the back.
Step #4
Fold again the uppest site on the left to the right.
Step #5
Redo step #1 - swing open the new upper layer to the back (first wing) and turn it over afterwards.
Step #6
Redo step #1 again - swing open the new upper layer to the back. That's the second wing.
Step #7
In this step, the neck and the tail of the crane will be embossed.
There are two inner flaps between the wing at the front and the wing at the back. Pull the left down to the left and the right to the right side.
Step #8
Do an inside reverse fold of the left flap for folding its head.
Just push the wings a little bit apart and curl them slighty.
That's the traditional crane.
